4 tablespoons butter
2 cups long grain white rice
2 sticks cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 cup raisins
1/4 cup brown sugar
1. Melt butter over medium heat in a heay sauce pan. Add rice and stir until each grain is coated. Add cinnamon, salt, brown sugar and turmeric plus 2 cups of water.
2. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 20 - 30 minutes until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
3. Stir in the raisins and heat for another minute or so before serving.
