The Mai Tai is the perfect 1940's cocktail. It was invented by Vector Bergron, "Trader Vic", in 1944. It is fruity, sweet and delicious. Make sure to have some little unbrellas!
1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar
2 oz. light rum
1 oz. triple sec
1 tablespoon almond flavored syrup (we used amaretto coffee syrup)
1 tablespoon grenadine
1 tablespoon line juice
Shake with ice and strain into an old fashioned glass that is about 1/3 full with crushed ice. Decorate with a maraschino cherry or a wedge of fresh pineapple. So 1940's!
