Set aside a Saturday and invite friends over for lunch and baking. Each participant must select their favorite cookie recipes. An old family treat that they would like to share or a interesting new recipe that they have been longing to try.

two

When your guests arrive they should have with them enough ingredients to make one dozen cookies for each of the other guests and themselves. So if six people are involved, each guest should be prepared to make six dozen cookies.

three

As well as having the ingredients, the guests should come with their recipe transcribed on some nice recipe cards. Enough for everyone. And if any special equipment is needed, they should bring that along as well.

four

Start baking. Help out. Learn techniques. Have fun. By the end of the afternoon, the house is filled with the smell of delicious cookies.

five

Start creating your gifts. Use old baskets tied with festive ribbons. Wrap boxes in holiday paper, and stuff with colorful tissue. Fill with goodies. Include the recipes! If you play your cards right, this can take care of a sizable chunk of your gift giving.

six

As the host have some soup ready to keep the energy up during all of the baking. Remember, slow down, life's a banquet!
