fried bananas
4 bananas cut into fourths
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup water
4 cups vegetable oil
honey

1. Heat oil in in a heavy pan to 375 degrees.

2. Mix the baking soda with the water to make a paste.

3. Dredge the bananas in the flour and then roll them in the baking soda mixture.

4. Deep fry the bananas until golden brown, about 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

5. Serve hot plain as a side dish, or drizzle with honey for a light dessert.
